An Agricultural Research Project in Mid-Missouri
Located in Cole County, Missouri, the farm’s purpose is to improve the profitability of organic products for local farmers and ranchers while sustaining and improving the environment.
Our Market
The Boondocks Organic Ranch & Farm performs research to determine the best management practices for the organic production of fruits, vegetables, meat, milk, and fiber. Organic meat and produce are highly sought after but there are few available sources in the central Missouri region. This farm will be one of the few organic certified farms in the area, focusing its efforts on the development of sustainable agriculture.
Owned and operated by Byron Murray, 2019 will be the farm’s first full year of production.
Soil Conservation
Soil erosion, nutrient and pesticide transportation are a significant problem in Missouri that produces a great degree of water pollution. Boondocks Organic Ranch and Farm is a small for-profit Farm setup to address the problem.
100% Organic
In addition to soil conservation, the use of cover crops to prevent erosion while providing natural nutrients for the soil will also support cash crops.
